So, the other day my mind was racing. I thought I needed to write them down. **Light bulb**
"I should write on my Blog"....
All I accomplished was updating my Blog Page, and deciding I don't like the word "Blog",
Therefore, from now on, I will call it a "Diary".
(maybe tomorrow I will get around to jotting down all those thoughts)

Our Adventure to San Diego
Ok, the whole story in Cliffnotes:
My last day of work in Harrison was 5/10/11, I already really miss all of my co-workers, very very much :-(
On 5/11 the packers came to pack the house, I was not really prepared and it was a mad scramble to get the essentials we would need for at least 2 weeks of hotel and suitcase living, tossed into the van, before the tossed it into a box. They were done with our entire house in less than 8 hours...it was unbelievable!! We stayed that night in a hotel in Harrison, and we got to lounge by the pool and in the hot tub for the evening. Camille went to church for last time, came home with puffy eyes, but handled it like a trooper. I think the upcoming changes and excitment weighed out the sadness, although she does miss her friends, and is chomping at the bit to get somewhere that she can meet some peers. Wednesday was also Aidens last day at school. He misses his teacher the most. He will finally sit down and write them a letter today! Lilli-Kate went to the daycare all day Wed and Thurs, as she is NOT tolerating the changes very well at all!!
Thursday 5/12/11 the moving truck came, and it took them longer to load the truck, than it did to pack the house, despite what I had been told before hand. This apparently was due to The driver being a bit lazy, didnt want to help with the loading, but checked progress every so often, yelled at the packers, about the placement of things and made them pull everything out and repack to his liking! GHRR, the packers were not happy and neither was I, as this was taking away from my driving time. I also received a very upsetting phone call early in the morning that distressed me most of the morning. The realty company (remax) who managed the rental house we had been living in, told the owner of the home that we were not going to pay rent, which was not true, as well as several other things that were not accurate. The details are not important, however it just so happened that the owner of the home is married to a Lt. Colonel in the national guard reserves or something like that. So he called my cell phone and proceeded to threaten "coming down on Daniel so hard, he wouldnt know what hit him" "he had already found D's command" "it would not be good to start out that way as a new guy in the service" and on and on and on. "he doesnt normally get involved but when his wife tells him someone is going to skip out on rent, it really ticks him off, and he is an attorney as well" "I needed to get in touch with D right away and pass along this message". It was rough, I was upset on so many levels. The realty company came in and took pictures of every little detail that was wrong with the dump, we lived in to pass on to the owner, and because we didnt take pictures or document the issues prior to our move in, we would be held responsible for them. And the house "better be clean" and "are you gonna shampoo the carpets, it stinks in here, and the house hasnt been presentable to show, and nothing could be repaired because of all the 'stuff"', the ladies were total B@#$%^%! I was bawling, the kids were freaking, the movers were fighting, and I couldnt reach Daniel!! I think what upset me most is that because the owners have military connection, they will probably take us for every penny they can get out of us to make repairs on that horrible slum! However, once I calmed down, I realized that the man was totally out of line to pull rank like that, and to take it out on me to begin with. Once I got to talk to D he reassured me of this. He spoke with his command after they noticed something was wrong the next day, who supported us and said "if he calls me again for any reason I am to get his number and give it to D, and they would take care of it". The last thing I wanted to do was distract or upset D but it is nice to know we have support. After all they have "money and time invested" in Ds success, and he definately is succeeding. He has been voted second in his class by his peers, only topped by a sailor who has been through this entire phase in the course previously :-). But who would have ever thought otherwise???
Anyways, we finally got on the road about 1630, didnt get much driving time in before we had to stop in oklahoma, we were all exhausted. We spent the whole day cleaning the house as the movers pulled stuff out, I ended up having to hire a very wonderful lady from work, to get in and do the yard and haul stuff off to the dump. I am so grateful she was able to help on such short notice! Thanks Sparky!
Before we got out of Ar. we took these uplifting photos. The first I called the Light at the End of My Tunnel, and the other two were an interesting cloud we called The Wave cloud we were riding into San Diego :)
The trip was pretty un eventful, the kids were great! Lil didnt fuss at all the whole way, she travels very well. They all entertained themselves. We saw Snow covered mountains in the middle of The Desert, Albuquerque (sp).
We were excited about seeing a real Desert of sand in southern Ca, and Then got to see the Border fence of Mexico. We went through several borderpatrol stops and alot of toll booths in Ok. Camille thought we would go broke with all the tolls :).
California also has Huge mountains made of piles of Rocks??? Almost like the were bulldozed into piles, except the are way to large for that? When we entered into the mountains, about 65 miles out of San Diego, we thought "we are gonna get to the top of theses mountains we will look down and see a sprawling city and the coast.....boy we were wrong!!! the mountains go on and on and on. You actually weave through the mountains to descent into the city, but the city is mountains? We were shocked! Couldnt even see the coast until we got onto Coronado island.
Lilli-kates firt beach experience was a success. She was kinda in shock at seeing Daddy after so long. She was very happy. These pictures are on the Bay side of the island. Pixie was elated to be out of the car and loved the water more than anyone, wich is totally suprising, as she is the dog that RUNS from the word "bath".
We stayed on the island for 3 nights, Walked the quaint little town and ate some great seafood! Monday I had a bit of difficulty getting my ID, due to a paperwork messup and once again had to depend on Ds command to help us out. D was able to get out of training a bit to escort me to the ID lab on his base. Which was much more efficient and quick than trying to deal with the busy id lab and PSD on the main land. Luckily he is doing so well, and they were not worried about him missing a beach run. Without my ID, I could not get on base to get stickers so I could get on base, kinda a catch 22. I also could not get through the gate to the housing office to get us a home. So we paid for an extra night and Cheif Gomez came to my rescue again :-) I Went to the housing office and found out that there was only 1 home available that we could get into for one reason and another. God blessed us, It happened to be one we had been watching on the military housing website. 4 bedroom 2.5 bath, townhome, garage, fenced yard, NEX and walmart nearby, along with all other shopping needs. Only 10 minutes from the island, not far off the interstate. Military housing so lots of kids, pool at complex, fitness center and rentable clubhouse. School within walking distance. We counldn't be happier. The only catch is we cant move in until 5/24/11. So we are staying at the Extended Stay America for a week. Oh and our stuff was supposed to arrive on the 23rd, so it has to be put in storage until a company can deliver it to us on the 26th, Oh Well what is 2 more days?
Had to have Ds command bail us out again, as I found out that housing will not let me sign a lease for housing without 2 kinds of POA a General and a Special one that has a specific statement regarding allotments and payments, GHRR. Anyways SWCC worked their magic and I had 3 POAs to cover all possible issues, by the next day! I have a Thank You card waiting to go back with D on Monday to give to our Angel, Chief Gomez.
I also have one for a gentleman that works at the housing office, I have been talking with him for several months, asking questions and getting info. He has been very patient, always quick to return my calls and find answers for me. When I finally got into the housing office he stuck with me through the whole proccess, pulled some strings to get us our house, and made a bunch of calls to get us set up here in the Hotel. Although the extra Hotel expenses have depleted our savings, we are making it and still very happy to be here closer to D. Money will be tight for a while and we will only be doing "Free" sightseeing, until I get a job, but we have plenty of time for all that. Next week, will be Getting all my papers, resume, certifications and such inline for the dreaded job hunt. I wanted to get to stay home with the kids, but a part-time job is a must I think:-) We are all happy and ready to get settled, Tonight We will pick up D for the weekend, and go enjoy a very cheap but much talked about mexican resturaunt down south of the island. It is supposed to be fabulous!! Lilli-Kate has aquired a pretty rough cold in the last 2 days, and we are worried about giving it to D, as this may hinder his training, but I suppose there is no help for it.
Until next time, with Love

Procrastination.
I have been putting this wonderful thing called blogging on the back burner lately, because I feel as if I have nothing worth while to talk about! I'm finally breaking down now, because I think enough time has gone by that surely I can pull something together. Now there is too much to say and I'm stressed! This is my love/hate relationship with procrastination. We have been companions for some many years now. Sometimes he makes me feel good for a bit, but he always lets me down in the end. I should replace him with a new buddy? Maybe some day I'll meet, Motivation, Go Ahead or Do It....
I am slightly marvelled that I don't have so much more to say about the holidays, considering my love and fascination for this time of the year?
I am slightly marvelled that I don't have so much more to say about the holidays, considering my love and fascination for this time of the year?
So we had a good Christmas at our house Saturday morning, Kids were very happy. Aiden got a Nintendo DS finally(hes been asking for several years), Camille got a computer(that we are still trying to get in good working order). We did not consider that her room would not have a phone jack to be able to connect the Internet modem in to. And the the DVD writer stopped working. Consequently, we have to buy a wireless USB adapter and a new Drive just so she can get on Facebook and you tube and download her new PC game she also got for Christmas. Ugh, ghrr, yikes and all of the other exasperation noises I can make to express my feelings toward electronics!!! It takes the patience of Job to deal with computer junk, and patience was not one of my God given gifts! Lilli-Kate got a Barbie that produced a very animated "WOW" and big round eyes, I wish I had it on film!
Later that day we went over the mountain to Meme and Papaws house, for a few more presents and a delightful Christmas dinner!
Daniel and I both worked the whole week, waiting with great expectations for New Years Eve!! Our buddy Tab came down again with her kiddos this time. Poor Camille had to stay home and Babysit While the Grown ups went out to have some fun. I can't tell you how many times I heard "that's not fair"... One would think me telling her "I don't care" once would be enough, but man, those teenagers are persistent!! The kids had party favors and some bubbly (sparkling grape juice). They stayed up till midnight (except Keaton who was out by 1930, and Lilli shortly after), and slept a little late on Saturday. This worked out great for us!!
Us grown ups went out for a nice meal (Red Lobster-thanks to Christmas gift cards :-), despite the fact that Tabatha is deathly allergic to shellfish...One might ask "why would you choose to go to Red Lobster if you have a shell fish allergy? Well, like I mentioned above, Gift certificates. As well as, Tabatha loves other seafood, and as it turns out Red Lobster is very considerate of people with allergies, they have a special menu and everything!! We had a great dinner and then decided to try out the dueling piano bar again. It was of course standing room only, my feet and legs are still telling me how abusive I am. I enjoyed the music and entertainment much more this time and the whole experience was actually quite fun. Interestingly enough, all of the entertainment did not come from the pianist! Ernie Biggs is a 2 story bar and both times we have been, we spent our time up stairs, with the best view of all the excitement. The pianos are downstairs backed by floor to ceiling mirrors, as well as 2 full bars and the restrooms in the back. Up stairs, the balcony, 1 bar and the VIP room that has a bathroom. It just so happens that a wedding party had reserved the room for a reception. They actually flagged a few bar stools on the balcony, the doors to the small VIP room AND the bathroom door!!! Tabatha tried to use the restroom and the Mother of the groom actually stopped her and said the bathroom was for the VIP party only, and would not let her use it!! As if the common people, hanging out at the same bar as them, are not good enough to sit on their toilet? To me if you can't share a public restroom, you shouldn't be hanging out in a piano bar, on New Years Eve no less! Oh well, by this time Tab has had plenty to drink and it was an exciting adventure down the stairs and across the whole club to the common persons restroom in the back corner.
The other nightly entertainment was the skank in the very short strapless mini-dress, who apparently forgot her undergarments. The dress truly needed its straps back, it was trained to strategically fall down every time she raised her arms, a bit of a preview of the nights events to come, or just easy access. So, LittleMiss Shows Alot made an interesting dance move of squeezing the sides of her boobs, as if to create some cleavage, while discreetly hiking up her dress every 25 seconds. And I must mention her greatest feature, the "get low" booty grind down to the floor, that ended as she was rising with a very liberal and obvious (supposed to be hidden, maybe nobody is watching, I have a huge itch) vaginal scratch session, that promises any watching "I want a piece of that" party goer, a nasty, itchy, crawly, lasting reminder of their year end bash!
And the final Act of the night was the redneck super model that provided us a little strip tease on stage, by unbuttoning her much too tight plaid shirt to reveal her matching red Victoria secret miracle wonder Bra. While doing so, snagging cash off the piano and out of the pianist tip jar! As her date notices he tries to distract her (or the pianist) with a grinding gyrating slobber-fest. Needless to say the entertainment came after this, when the pianist made her give the money back, the bouncers show up and her date has to physically carry her off the stage as she is groping the piano bench, because her time has been cut short :)
Daniel and I talked about it and I think we will go up there again and try to get there early enough to get a table next time :-).
All right, I follow Daniels cousin, Danielle's, blog and Her latest post about recapping the last decade really gave me some ideas of what I'd like to do with my Blog. I hope she doesn't mind me copying her idea :) In order to avoid the inactivity of my blog due to insufficient writing material of our current happenings in life, I will start at the beginning and recap my life through shared pictures and memories. (I got a really cool Scanner/ Copier/Printer to help with this) Well, maybe not quite so structured as Chronological order, but maybe certain events and highlights!
It will be a bit of my own scrapbook. Of course, I will input and report all the current developments to do with the family and kids and all that sweet here and now stuff, as well!
I can't wait!

Ahhh Silent night.
The kids are in bed, Christmas music playing, I'm in front our beautiful Tree, ready to wind down! Daniel is at the gym?!?!?!?
Daniel and I had a great friend come down and visit for the weekend. Our wonderful Tabatha! We had a blast. Had a great dinner at Neighbors Mill Friday (love the Beef and Cheese sandwich) bought great cookies for dessert and fresh muffins for breakfast. Tab and I got away on Saturday and spent the day walking the square. Did the flea market and thrift store thing. Found some great buys! Saturday night we went to Branson for Daniels work Christmas party. A place called Rockys down by the landing has some Great Prime Rrib. Then the fun begins :) Earnie Biggs piano bar! So there was alot of alcohol, loud music, cigarette smoke :-( I would have preferred the Karaoke bar down the landing , but the large party had already decided the dueling pianos won out! It was my first time at a place like that and I'm sorry to admit I wasn't too impressed,. I'm so Thankful for Daniels wonderful employer who reserved hotel rooms at a group rate so many couples were able to have a great time safely, as far as I know there were no legal issues during or after the great fun!.
My Eldest daughter is trying her hardest to turn me into a gray haired mom. Here we are less than a week away from Christmas, I want to give her all the things she wants and she wont stop the shenanigans long enough to recover from the last. She has strategically changed her top request on her Christmas wish list to include #1. "I want to be ungrounded" and #2. "I want my phone back". But she continues to make stupid decisions and those 2 things are only leverage we have as the parents in the house! (well at least the most successful) Whats a mother to do?
Aiden brought home an F on his last spelling test.....He has had nothing lower than a A, on any assignment in any subject, all year long!
What is happening to my children? The Momma Grinch is fixing to steal Christmas in my house!
Could these Halloween pictures from this year be any Indication? The Gypsy and the Monster!
Ohhhh Lilli-Kate, my sweet little Love Dove. Shes not too rotten yet, however I did learn tonight that her Grudge actually can last about 10 minutes. Does this seem like an exceptionally long attention span for a 16 month old, to any one else? She was Trying to cut some teeth on a battery and I told her "no mam", not even in my angry voice! Heaven Forbid! She looked at daddy, then sissy, then me and stuck out that bottom lip and the water works began. She IS the drama Princess! We all laughed at her and she stopped eventually, 10 minutes later she looked at me and , I kid you not gave me "the look and rolled her eyes at me!!!! Oh Man !
My Lottery Mission isn't working out so great. Haven't won anything else! Beginners luck is over. Hey a woman can dream.
Well good night for now, I'm apparently addicted to a new PC game Ive found, Bejeweled 3. Its calling my name?

GOOOO LAPTOP!
Okay, so we are about a week away from Christmas, but we now have our Wal-mart special laptop, and I love it! I'm sitting in the living room, with Daniel, in comfort, on my couch! I had to make up a fabulous excuse about needing it early, and it worked to my favor. It went something like, "I have to take it to the computer guy at work to transfer all my stuff over from my desktop, so it will be ready to use and so on and so on..." and then I had to leave the desktop with him to be cleaned out and refurbished, and its still being worked on (it had some issues). So we have been destitute without an Internet access source in the house. Now don't get me wrong, Daniel didn't for a minute believe or give into my excuses. He was lost without Internet too!
I wanted to get on here and tell you all about Aidens latest issue that totally tickled us. If you know Aiden he sometimes doesn't think things through all the way before he says what he wants, sometimes it comes out a bit backwards, or very literal context, or wrong words, etc. He has in his short time alive, given us so many laughs, due to his interpretation of what he has heard or seen or thinks he understands. He definitely is good for a million laughs. Anyways, he started complaining Saturday night of his stomach hurting (a cramping, slightly nauseating, sharp pain) not necessarily a stomach virus, just inconsistent pain? He wasn't going to go to school on Monday because it seemed to hurt most when he was up and about. However, later in the morning he called me and asked me to take him to school because he felt the house was making him sick, thought he just needed to get out and occupy his mind. After school he still feels OK, so he goes to his buddies down the street, but comes in crying after he has asked the parents to bring him home, as the pain has returned. he proceeds to tell me that "Jordan's mom said they had this Bug but it only lasted about 12 hours" a minute later, between sobs, he says "man I must have just got bit too many times by that bug".
I wish I had archived all the great things that have come out of his mouth!
We are actually ready for Christmas early this year. We usually do all shopping the last payday before Christmas. This has made for many of cram shopping trips on Christmas eve in the past! It feels nice to be done, considering the fiasco we barely skimmed through last year.
It was Christmas eve and Daniel and I still had stocking stuff to buy. Time slipped away from us and after wrapping all of the presents (way too many) we realized it was almost 1 am. We rush out to the local Wal-mart super center (that is always open), just to find that it closes on Christmas eve?!?!?! Who knew? We panicked!! We drove all the way to Branson Mo, (about 35 miles away) to the Kmart that was barely still open. We didn't even consider the Walgreen's right down the street. Oh well, we vowed not to do that again. We thought we had ruined Christmas. Despite all the gifts, it always seems the stockings are our families favorite part. I think it must be because so much thought and personalization goes into the little things. Wouldn't it be nice if the Christmas celebration went back to that simpleness. Aside from the true reason for the season, I mean!
I truly love everything about this time of the year. The weather, the lights, the feelings, and especially the music. I have acquired a few more Christmas albums this year. This is not new to me I always get at least 1 new album. However, this year I had to have more, as it seems the local radio stations have been very sparse on playing the seasonal stuff, and I'm finding that it really gets on my nerves to have to listen to regular music during this season. I'm forced to listen to regular music the entire rest of the year, would it be too much to mix it up a bit, for a few months out of the year? Although it is also not out of the ordinary for me, to pop in some Christmas music at any random time in the year, just for a little jingle jangle happy time. So now I have a great stock, that is now a little better, to put on shuffle and get me through all my wearisome travels during the day.
By the way, Aidens stomach issue has since resolved, with out any true diagnosis. As far as I can tell, Aiden may have accidentally eaten some foam from a Nerf dart he was innocently chewing it up, while Daniel and I were Christmas shopping. He's not quite sure how much he may have eaten, but all the plumbing is working well and the pain is gone, so maybe a lesson was learned?

Catching up.
Well, so this blog of mine has actually turned into one of those, yearly updates that people send out in Christmas cards. It has been that long. We Took Holiday pictures today and I'm feeling particularly Festive so I decided to sit at this uncomfortable computer and finally write a little. (have i mentioned that i am finally getting a laptop this Christmas?) I plan on writing alot more frequently! I also decorated some photo albums to sent out to family with the kids pictures in them, they turned out quite well if i do say so, myself. I may post some pictures if i can figure out how to put them in this text space?
Wow Could it be so simple???
Wow Could it be so simple???
I'm still working at the same place, same job, same people. It has gotten a bit better. It'll do for now.
Daniel is still working at the same place for now. However he has just signed a contract for the Navy. We have decided by Unanimous vote that we prefer military life and are going back in for the long haul. Daniel will be joining the Special Operations of the Navy in accompaniment to the Navy SEALS. He will go through training, to be a SWCC or Special Warfare Watercraft Combatant Crewman. (Basically he will ride a boat and shoot a very large gun. :-) This makes him very Happy. This whole military thing has been a long drawn out process, and we feel very fortunate and confident that this is the path God has chosen for us. As there was a large number of reasons that this shouldn't have worked out. Daniel is scheduled to leave march 7 2011 for approximately 3 weeks at Great Lakes Naval Base, then approximately 28 more weeks of training in San Diego Ca.. somewhere in the middle of all this the kids and I will get to move out to San Diego as well. After training we will get to choose our duty station. San Diego, Virginia or somewhere in Mississippi.... We are all looking forward to the changes!
Camille has had some difficulty in school the last couple years, so we have decided that she is of age to be trusted to do school from home. She will have a Christian based curriculum that is done on CD ROM. She is not too thrilled about this but is warming up to the idea, she was home schooled the second half of last year also. She more dislikes the idea of missing out on the social life that young people her age call Junior High. i vaguely remember being there and i think it was something like what HELL must be! And its only gotten worse over time :-( Oh yeah Camille is now 14 years old, taller than me, and still very beautiful!
Aiden is 8. He is very active, funny and lovable. He started TaeKwonDo 2 months ago and has already taken his first test to receive his yellow belt. the instructors have been raving about how advanced and natural he is at this. (As if we thought he wouldn't be...Hes been fighting silverware at the dinner table, and imaginary battles in his mind for years!) ooh i have a video of his pattern he learned that isn't even a requirement yet, he just did it for extra credit! i should mention that he doesn't know if he passed his testing yet, they make the students wait, to learn Patience. he will find out at their convenience :)
So Lilli-Kate, our ornery little PRINCESS, is almost 16 months old. All I've got to say is its a good thing she is so darn cute! Do you know what i did today, how retarded could a mother be? so, i have been cutting Aiden and Daniels hair for quite a long time, usually turns out Fine. Well something possessed me this morning to try cutting Lillis. Oh Man, i have to take her to the beauty shop tomorrow and see if they can fix it a little!! I'm not really freaking out because its just hair, it will grow back. But i am a bit sad that it was her very first haircut and i chopped it to pieces. I didn't even save any. but I've always wondered what people want with a lock of hair. I just cant believe i did it, and on picture day too. However if you notice she is wearing a strategically placed headband and hair bow, that i made. How can i feel so crafty, and make truly pretty things but be so inept at a little haircut?
I guess that just about sums it all up? Since the possibility of moving a great distance has arisen we have been contemplating the fact that we must downsize our animal situation, along with everything else we have acquired over the last 10 years of marriage, that we do not need. So Xena our female great Dane went to a wonderful new home down in Cabot Ar. they have raised great Danes for a long time and are very excited to have her and are making her one very happy dog. Moppit also went to a new home. a young family with one other dog and kids for him to play with. he gets to stay inside all the time and sleep with his new best buddy Fred, on the huge ottoman right in the middle of the living room in front of the huge picture window!
(we still have Pixie, Magnus and Cat) Yes her name is Cat, we are fresh out of originality, or not used to naming cats?
Sorry no time for editing.

Too long gone
So it has been a very long time! I have no real explanation other than I have a hard time keeping up with all the stuff I do on the computer and I get tired of sitting in this chair. Maybe if I had a wonderful laptop I could sit in the recliner and this would be so much more Comfy. since my last blog the most important change in my life has been that we got pregnant! I am currently 22 weeks along and we are expecting a baby girl in early Sept. We have a few names that we like but are currently accepting suggestions. Warning... we have a tendancy to change our minds at the last minute so we are not giving out any clues, as we dont want alot of confusion after the delivery.
We had a pleasent Thanksgiving with my side of the family at my parents house all of us girls and all the grandkids. My parents just eat that up! We Dont get together like that often enough.
We had an eventful Christmas at our house with some of Daniels family.
Daniel had to switch to the evening shift after the Shop he was working at shut down and he had to find a new job. The evening shift is hard on us due to past experiences, however we are grateful that he faound another job. We are praying that he will be able to switch to days soon as it was only supposed to be a temporay shift when he was hired.
We also got news shorlty after christmas that we had to move from the house we were hopefully going to be able to buy, due to the owners changing circumstances. so we rushed and found a decent place that would alow our herd of dogs. Grateful for that as well.
So here we are, we have found a church that all of us seem to enjoy and feel comfortable in. It is rather large so we havent met or bonded with any families yet but are hopeful. i did just finish up a Wednesday night bible study for mothers, which i enjoyed greatly!
I suppose thats all for now, I need to go start dinner for my crew.

okay, so it has been a really long time.... i am so sorry! i have honestly not been in the mood to spend extra time on the computer, just to repeat everything i have been living, for the last 3 weeks. but here it is.
we have been busy. death in the family. funerals and trips. sickness in our household. time off from school and work. trips to Missouri to see long lost friends. extra work (overtime, on call, weekends.) and finally 1 weekend to sleep in and not have to "do" anything.
the reason for this blog is something that has weighed heavily on my mind since 11/4/08. those who know me, know!
We voted! it is our DUTY as United States citizens. this was one of the foundations our country was built upon... the right to " have a say"!!!!
Thas is what my father and husband have fought for, and i intend to show my spouse and dad appreciation for giving me the right to SPEAK every chance I get, for the rest of my life. Whether people think i am dumb or narrow minded, I do not care about their opinion, it is NO better than MINE!!!! I know that EVERY person on this earth, is a gift from God. that does not mean that i have to AGREE with every person. and I do not believe that " those who voted for the the winning team" are RIGHT or know all of the truth.
What i do know is GOD has a plan. Whether that is to leave this world stranded, to make it on our own (because we have taken him out of his creation), or whether He has a better plan. He is still on the throne. and I and my family will be going Home when He takes us! This world is NOT our home! "As for me and my house WE will serve the Lord"
If this world is meant for destruction then that is okay... I believe God will spare his followers from torture, and me and my house will be safely led home.
I love this land and the Freedom it gives me. I married a man, and came from a man, who Proved this....more than any mans "word" that they love this country. PROVE IT!!!! My Dad and my Husband fought for this country, they layed down their life for this country, despite family, they made promises for this country, and stuck by them. To me NO MAN or WOMAN less than that, should be allowed to Rule this country. They have not shown the SACRIFICE it takes to prove they LOVE this country. I trust no man to make decisions on behalf of my country or family, unless they have PROVEN, a sacrifice to this land!
Just because a person looks young and vigorous, sounds good with words, and has a pretty family, DOES NOT mean they will lay down their LIFE for the country they "love" and can make the best decisions for our land. In conjunstion with this, I also KNOW that all men and women who make this "sacrifice" are NOT cut out to fill the difficult role of President of the United States of America. It does Take a Special Soul. I just believe the 2 MUST be joined.
I did not make it to my reason for this Blog..... I will continue tomorrow on the interesting story I heard today, while driving in my car.

Wow, I cant believe its the 21st of October already?!?!?! It has been terribly busy. Ive thought about what all I need to be writing down in this Blog, and then I talk myself out of it. Because I should be doing work, or homework, or laundry , or cleaning, or sleeping or a million other things.
We went to a funeral on Thursday last week. There is not much I want to say about it. It was the most horribly tragic thing I have ever been to. I work for a Hospice program, I'm a nurse and I have been to alot of family funerals. This was atrocious. No mother should have to bury both of her children within 3 years. Both at the age of 25.
We went to Jefferson City MO. this past weekend for a Rodney Carrington stand up show and to the Casino! Rodney was really funny, however I don't think I will ever get used to his crudeness and cursing. I had to go. I went to see Brad Paisley in concert, in August, with the girls so I promised Daniel he could see Rodney. This had been a long hard week, however, we had the tickets for 2 months and I could'nt let Daniel down. He was SOOO excited. I could have let him go up by himself but.......NO! To top it all off, Aiden woke up with a cold and a fever on Friday morning( at 0530) and Camille came home early with a sore knee, that she hurt 6th hour running track. My mom was the planned babysitter 6 weeks ago and I should have called/warned her, but I couldn't bring myself to tell her "oh, by the way, I'm bringing you 2 pitiful (sick and hurt) grand kids". I am thankful because it was my mom babysitting, at least I knew my kids would be WELL taken care of!
It was my first trip ever, to the Casino.....it wasn't all its cracked up to be. Daniel and I each lost 20 dollars....might as well just flushed it down the toilet! It was boring, we did the slot machines, because I know nothing about gambling cards or dice. Apparently you dont have to know anything about slot machines either. All you have to do is hit a button or pull the handle. You win a little and lose more. When youv'e spent your money the machine just quits working. I could have read a book while I sat there. The thing that made it the least enjoyable was all the cigarette smoke! We were there about 1.5 hours and left smelling like we had rolled in an ashtray, we were nauseated and had stuffy noses. Totally not something I could do on a regular basis. There was actually a lady there that was using the bathroom and as she was leaving the custodian said " hi Bertha (fake name) how are you feeling? have a good night and Good luck"!!!! how often must you frequent a casino for the staff to know you by name???? how much money do you have to lose to get there????
DIGRESSION: I thought we would become more restless with Harrison Arkansas the longer we lived here, but it appears the opposite has happened. The more we have traveled locally, the more beautiful and charming we find North Central Arkansas (Harrison). It is lovely. We find that there is a wonderful small town feeling, with all the amenities we need. And its not TOO busy. Although I am not too greatly satisfied with THIS house, I hope that we will be happy with the location for a long time! We only wish we had some couples friends to spend time with. When Daniel was in the Marine Corps, we constantly had cookouts, played cards, went out for dinner, had fun with various couples/families! This last year alone together has brought us closer, and we enjoy each other alot. But now we need more. We have friends close by, within hours, but can only see every so often, on the weekends. I don't want to meet new friends! I want the ones I love dearly, closer to us! When did everything get so complicated? I remember when I was 20, I just moved out of my small hometown, to where my best friend lived, just because I was sick of it. I guess as we get older and families grow and money becomes more important, things get harder! Its very SAD!
Non sequeter: We actually stopped and looked at 2 houses tonight. This is very out of the ordinary for Daniel. He usually cannot see the positive in things enough to dream about things like a house in the near future (2 years). He actually stopped willingly just because I was interested, and seemed interested himself! They are older homes in Harrison, that have been newly renovated. Less than $100,000, can you believe that? He actually sounded hopeful and was trying to picture us in them? Unbelievable!
I have my 4th algebra test on Thursday. I really should be doing homework. I wonder doubtfully, whether I will realistically, be able to go on in school. This is REALLY HARD, I'M NOT SUPER MOM!! I feel bad leaving all of my wifely duties (laundry, cleaning, cooking dinner, tending to the kids), after iI get home from work, to Daniel while I limit myself to 2 hours of work on the computer and 2 hours of homework, in the evenings, only to get ready for bed. I will have to really think and pray about these plans of mine. This masters degree journey will take alot of time away from my kids and my home life. We'll see?!?!
Another change of subject: Aiden is feeling better. Maybe a trip to the country (meme and papas) did him good, although he did manage to give me a terrible flesh eating virus (Cold Sore) on my nose. Only my 2nd in my life. Luckily I learned from my 1st last year that Abreva and Novitra really work!!!
Camilles knee injury is healed "its a miracle", and it was quickly attributed to a 7th hour science test, on Friday, that she squirmed out of. Unfortunately she didn't realize that she would also miss a movie and an overnight stay at a friends house due to her "inability to get onto the bus and walk home"! She must not really be my child, science was my favorite subject....NOT HERS, it is always a wonder when she pulls a C in that class!
Daniel is planning on fishing this weekend (surprise, surprise) , even though I have to work and I'm on call! Is this FAIR???? Who will watch the kids??? I guess if Camille is old enough to stay home by herself or with Aiden, for an hour during the week, then she can anytime? I'm not quite sure I want to start this wonderful strategy, as I relinquish all good excuses I have for keeping Daniel home while I'm out seeing sick and dead people, at all hours of the night and day during the week and weekend! Am I being Selfish?
Have I mentioned that I'm getting rather burnt out on this job! I am trying my hardest not to let my work slip because its not fair to the sick people, and I have some patients that I care for deeply, that I don't want to give up., but its hard to work a job that your tired of and dont really like! I saw an old professor of mine working at the college that I attended 10 years ago, and it made me nauseated to think of working the same old, consistent, monotonous job for 10,15 25,30 years until retirement!!!! Maybe there was some divine intervention (GOD)that lead me to chose this career. Thankfully, I am not tied down to 1 job or 1 field. I have the ability and approval to try a new job every year, if I wish. I love the people I work with and I love the flexibility of this job, but I find myself dreading every day....wanting a day,a week, a month, off! That cannot mean I'm working to my best ability. I told my boss today that I do not see myself doing this for another 1 or 2 years. To my great surprise she sympathized with me, understood. She didn't try to talk me out of my thoughts or feelings, or try to convince me to stay. That was nice. I guess it does take a special person to be a nurse....a RESTLESS, CHANGE NEEDING, person.
Its getting late, and I have to work tomorrow....Imagine that!
Until next time,
Laurie

Until next time,
Laurie

Just an update...
Okay, I had only 3 blogs for last month. This takes a bit more time, effort and energy than I first believed it would.
I don't have anything of any relevance to jot down, but I thought I'd let all know I'm still alive.
Aiden is doing much better in school, his behavior is improving. At first he had a difficult time, compared to preschool where he was the best in class and "he could do no wrong" apparently he just needed to learn his position. And its not on TOP, of the Kindergarten class.
Camilla unfortunately has developed sort of a complex about her thighs. And if you know my daughter she is far from FAT! This is why its so upsetting to me! She refuses to wear shorts and has stopped dressing out in her sports class, which has lead her to not make the Basketball team. She has decided to finish out the year in her girls athletic class, and participate with the other girls. However she doesn't think she wants to play sports. If this is the case then that's okay. She still has band, and maybe she'll find an interest in choir? On a good note, she went to her first Junior High dance and had a fabulous time. She wore the cutest outfit, I will post pictures. Despite her "flabby legs" she got asked by multiple boys to go to the dance with them, but declined all offers. She said wanted to go with the girls.... so she could dance with all the boys. HMMMM what a concept!!!lol. So lots of boys asked her to dance.....and how many did she dance with???? NONE!!!! That's my good girl. I keep telling her that boys are DUMB. (How long do you think this will work?)
Daniel and I have started some different tactics to try and change both of our childrens attitudes towards us and the constantly talking back. It is taking a significantly larger amount of patience on our behalf but neither of us liked yelling so much anyways. It appears to be working pretty well, and we hope it will get better. At least the tension level in the house is alot lower since Daniel and I are not so angry anymore.
I am pleased to announce that I still have an A in my College Algebra class. I made a 96% on my last test!!! Yea ME! I know its all so silly but, I really didn't think I would ever pass this class.
Turkey Trot is this weekend, and I'm excited! I guess its just Nostalgia! Audra and Daniel and the boys are gonna come up and hang out with us so That makes me even more Happy!
Also Daniel and I are going away for a weekend to the St. Louis area for a concert and to visit some Marine friends of ours. Its going to be so fun. We will also try our luck for the first time ever in the Casino. We don't plan on winning much or any, simply because we haven't much to spend! We will be on a tight budget of 20$ each. Very excited about this as well. I am praying that Bobby gets to come home for this, he is still currently in Virginia, awaiting his medical discharge.
Our floors are in, I can't wait to start laying them. Don't know when it will be! We are pretty booked up these next couple weekends. Maybe we can fit it in some weeknight?
I'm just waiting to publish this Blog, for my pictures to download, so I can post Camilles Dance. Of course it is the last one I took, on MY FULL memory card, of 443 pictures of our July vacation to Maryland and Washington D.C.. So its the last to download. I cant believe I have gone this long without printing them! I can hardly hold my horses to start scrap booking them, I suppose I am in fear of the cost it will be....15 cents for 440 pictures??? OUCH! Baby steps I guess. I look back at some of them and think " hmm these look pretty darn good!" I do think I would like to take some amateur photography classes some day. I would also like a really expensive high quality camera, as well. I heard on the radio today that God has given us the ability to Dream. So we should not be afraid to confess our dreams, no matter how BIG (our house) or SMALL (a camera), to Him and allow Him to show us He is the God of dream making and much more!
O.K I got the pictures loaded but it is sideways. I dont know how to rotate it? Can anyone help me?
I am trying to say all my prayers and do all my devotionals. I'm not giving up. I guess He didn't say "this road will be easy." =)

Random
Ok, Its been a while and this is about to be Tons of Random thoughts, just smackin' the page. ( with minimal editing! as I feared, editing is the reason I dont write more often.)
Its been crazy busy this week. We tore up the carpets in the house, ordered floors to lay, and painted the entire living/dining/hallway area. I worked way too hard this weekend. I was sore and aching, therefore didn't sleep well on Sunday night. I woke up every time i rolled over with my feet, legs or hands hurting, wishing i had taken some ibuprofen like i thought about doing. I thought at one point in the night that i was going to have to have surgery on my wrists because my hands/arms kept falling asleep in the night. I'm still trying to decipher this phenomenon. I was Way tired yesterday, I wanted a nap, but didn't get one because of phones, dogs, kids and husband. However i went to bed fairly early last night and slept well.
Just to wake up to another crazy hectic day. I neglected to take Aiden and get his 5 year shots and physical before the school year started, I procrastinate like a queen, thinking i would have plenty of time next week.....
random digression, Camille enters my room and.... Her attitude is going to drive me crazy!!!!! I cannot handle feet stomping on the stairs like they weight 400 lbs and the sarcastic tones in her voice, not to mention she has a response for EVERYTHING!!! Add patience to my prayer list...check!
So I received a call from the Elementary school saying "times up (apparently I didn't have more time the next week) if he doesn't have his shots and physical by 10/1 then he cant come to school" OH MAN Ive done it this time!!! so it took over 2 hours to get shots today, I only THOUGHT i could tackle the physical as well...
and in this time i had to take Camille a pair of jeans, because horrid cruel 7th graders like to poke fun about dumb stuff , which causes alot of emotional damage to an already emotional preteen.
Digression again... so after the shots i show up to work and get nothing done, apparently i ramble on in person as well as on paper or the keyboard, just to rush off to class. After class I have 4 patients assigned to see between noon and 1630, not to mention 2 in different cities each 30 miles away which equals out to be approximately a 100 mile trip.....you do the math. its not humanly possible! Thankfully it worked out that i only had to see 2 of the 4 patients, i fear i would still be driving around all of gods creation to see these patients had it not worked out!
I have missed so many appointments lately That I'm starting to feel as if i really cant do it ALL! i cant seem to keep all of my ducks in a row, so i bought an organizer. And Thus gives me 2 more things to do in a day. Look at it and write in It. Why is it, in the search to become more organized and effective with life chores, it adds more stress and chores. I'm hoping that if i can stick with it it will become easier, what is the saying " it only takes 3 days to start a habit", We will put that theory to a test!!! I am grateful to my dearest friend Audra for the boost she gives me by recognizing that I am pretty busy. Some how in all of this I find myself feeling lazy? Is this a valid feeling?
I do not want this blog to be a constant Nag session, so here are some good things. I have found a new interest in my GOD and My Savior.
I have grown up a believer and in church so maybe this is not "new" just a RE-interest. I think this is evolving from a few recent thing. (In no particular order)
1. I have rekindled a friendship with a wonderful Godly woman, who I've known and loved for almost 18 years, I love you Audra, I look up to you in so many ways and I pray that i will show myself to others as you have to me.
2. A wonderful movie that just came out Fireproof. This movie has really hit home with me. It showed me some things i needed to recognize and it sparked some questions that I will have to search/study my God to figure out. And it amazes that I am still learning on a daily basis that God plays a part in so many unrecognized things in life.
3. I have acquired a new love and enjoyment for contemporary christian music, thanks to Sirius Spirit. Music has always been very important to me, in ways that are not explainable. I never really enjoyed this type of music, because I didn't "know" it, I couldn't sing along. I have found contentment in just listening to the words and feelings that these other Believing people are saying.
4. I think I have finally found a church that i can feel comfortable in and excited about. It has been a long time, years, that i felt lost. I am anxious to get involved and hear what God has to say.
5. A blog called Bring the Rain. Inspiration.
6. Stressful times in my life have forced me to realize that the only solid ground I have to stand/lean on is God. I walk by faith everyday, with out it i would be angry, scared, confused, lost, sad, and all of the other emotions that God wants to deliver us from.
7. I recently recognized that my husband needs my prayers and my light to shine for him. I have forgotten this and let the importance of this slip through all my cracks. Now I'm back In. The Power of a Praying wife, will be my new constant companion.
8. I have a family that needs to be raised in church, and my responsibility as a parent to provide them with the knowledge and resources they need to get to know God, has also been pushed aside. No Longer. This has become a priority.
9. Lastly, knowing that this physical world is crumbling under our feet as God has told us will happen in the end times, and a knowledge and fear of what is to come to those who believe and those who do not believe.
I have a hunger, I want to be a better woman in my family, work, and life. I hunger to grow as a Christ filled woman. I vow to start praying daily for my family. For Daniel. For our Country. For Myself. I purchased the book Love Dare and vow to do that for 40 days. I also purchased a woman's devotional bible and vow to spend 15 minute in this book daily for 1 year. I started a 40 day prayer for our country last Friday, And I will start a 40 day prayer for our countries finances on 10/14. I just happened to read a verse today while in the christian book store that has bound me to these vows. God does not take promises lightly and now that I have voiced them, I must follow through. And so in in taking these vows i add more, (but more important) things to that check off list, that never seems to end.

Today is just another day.
Well, it has been a most exciting last couple of days, however nothing i can really talk about....sorry to leave you all in such SUSPENSE! I appear to be going through so many decision making processes that some have come to wonder how ever get a moments rest????
Well, i dont know. I dont sleep that well.
Sometimes I feel so incredibly lazy, like nothing ever gets done. However, when I look back at all that is going on right now, I realize that Im just another Mother, Wife, Bread winner. I just wish I had more energy!
As some may know, I am taking COLLEGE ALGEBRA, (for the 4th time), and I have an A!!!
I made a 93% on our last test, while most in the class made C's if not lower! Am I special, or is all of the pent up knowlege, gained by my previous ventures into the perfectly pointless world of algebra, finally showing through my blank stares and wandering thoughts in class? This is doubtful considering the fact that, i either dropped out in the 1st couple weeks, while there was $$$ to still be salvaged; or I failed out in the 1st couple weeks, in all of my last 3 attempts. I have officially been in class for 1 month, I may just succeed! Unfortunately this means I have many more years of Classes to go, as I set out on this journey to accquire a Masters Degree in Nursing. In the far recesses of my mind I always used this class as the reason that i would never have to go back to school, as i knew I would never pass the Dreaded College Algebra that is a required prerequisite to any Bachelors degree. Whether you plan to study the stars as an astrologist, study the animals in agriculture or the human body, as a nurse. Would some body please tell me who the IDIOT was that thought up all these rules and theories of #s called Algebra, and decided that everyone should love to learn about them???? I would like to strangle his neck, then revive him with CPR, an automatic defibrilator, and then put him on a ventilator just to ask him where he thinks Algebra comes into this equation? I really could never do any harm, I just need to make a point and get some answers!
Ok, I digress, this (masters Degree) is a 5-10 year plan mind you. I suppose at that time I will be sufficiently mature to take on the responsibilities of teaching and training aspiring young nurses in the college setting, contingent on me not changing my mind, which appears to be my going trend since Ive hit my mid 20s. I am grateful for the saying "Its a Womans Perogative" ; however this belief is a growing complication between man and wife right now, as he just cannot keep up with me and my decisions.
Anyways, what lead me to my discussion of my studies is, I recieved a Parking Warning today, for parking in a "Reserved" space. Had I been there at the time my warning was issued, I would have been forced to state "hmm well the sign does not say who this space is Reserved for, I just assumed it could be for me!"
We have recieved word that I can do some demolition on the house we are currently living in. I love begining a project with demolition. I am tearing out horrible, disgusting, stinky, stained carpet, and i am stoked about it!!!!! I love demolition and tearing things up! And I despise CARPET!!!!!! It is Putrid! Of course we have to follow this random act of violence with the painstaking chore of laying a new floor. It wont be too bad, in general I love homes and refurbishing them, and at least, in this home we will get reimbursed! I have been busy all evening, I didnt even wait to take off my scrubs before tearing up the NASTY! My hands now feel like stiff, dry, useless appendages that are hanging from my arms, making it difficult to type to my best ability....as though I do it so well!
On a final note I want to apologize for the poor quality of the lovely pink I choose to post my first Blog text in. I did not realize it would strain the eyeballs to crossing, while trying to read it. I am pretty reliable in that I usually only make a mistake once, ...intentionally!
Until next time,
Laurie

1st Times A Charm?
So, i first found out about "blogging" about a year ago. I always wondered if I'd have the time, or enjoy trying it? Im no English major, and i oftentimes dont have much to say, but 'why cant I just write about my nothings'? So this is the first.
Im 29 and a mother of 2, married, a nurse, and a student. My life is becoming busier and busier with every passing day.
My daughter just started 7th grade and the "hormones of a teenage drama qeen will be the death of me"! Although.... my son just started Kindergarten, and my little "angel" has suddenly turned in to a "havoc reeking, destructive, ornery little pain in my rump". Between the 2 of them Im aging much more rapidly than I scientifically should. I was just thinking Id give the 2 of them away and try again- just go back to the starting line- start over. Just kidding I do love my kids!
I have had a rough, long week and dont understand why i have decided to add another thing to do (blog), to my mile long hopeful list of daily accomplishments. Which, By the way, never gets close to being done. But maybe i need to be able to jot my thoughts down at the end of each day to empty out the brain for a good nights rest. who knows, we'll see.
We went to the local highschool football game tonight, because Camille had some Girlfriends over and I dont trust them to be dropped off and left alone. Maybe I'm paranoid and maybe i just know better? We won, in case anyone was wondering, it was lacking excitement and i found myself looking at all the horrible new fashion trends and disrespectful attitudes of our teenage society.
We showed up late because of the above stated hormonal drama queens, so we were left to sit on the lowest bleacher. Which led to this true story, Involving some of the dissrespectful attitudes previously mentioned. I actually said "Excuse us" to a group of these beings who were standing up in front of us, and 1 of the young ladies turned to me and said "your excused" with alot of head wobbling, eyebrow raising a scowl, and a very nasty tone, all befitting an eccentric brat. After being repremanded or cautioned by her fellow teens she very loudly says " What? Im a Bitch", before being ushered away by her cautious friends. Do mothers actually teach/allow their young girls to act this way to their elders or any adults? I do believe my husband showed a great deal of restraint, as he did not say a word. The only consolation for the struggle it took not to bend that young lady over my knee, was that there was a police officer close by who promptly shuffled all of the congregating teenagers off of the walking passage and into the bleachers or out of the stands.
Yes, there are police officers at our HS games. This is new to me, i went to a single A school, there was no need. There were no students to linger about in the bleachers. If you werent playing , you were in the band! And the school staff and coaches were enough to quell any student uproars, if the parents couldnt settle it first!
Well, i feel Ive rambled enough. I have a very exciting day planned tommorow.
Thanks for reading, hopefully I will be like a fine wine and get better with time, at this Blog thing!
